U10 Coach Applications 2025/2026 Information and registration

U10's Head Coach – Expressions of Interest NOW OPEN

Join the Bendigo Braves and shape the future of basketball in our region! We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated individuals for our coaching team in the U10 Academy pilot program, a fantastic opportunity to nurture young athletes’ development.

Selection Criteria: Applicants will be assessed on, but not limited to, the following:

• Technical basketball knowledge
• Level of coach accreditation
• Previous representative coaching experience
• General relevant experience

*Offers are made in the best interest of the Bendigo Braves junior program and its ongoing development.

Selection Panel: All Expressions of Interest will be reviewed by a panel including the Director of Coaching (DOCAD), a BBA committee member, and a JBC member. Final recommendations will be made by this panel and ratified by the BBA Board.

Appointees need to comply with the following:

• Upon appointment, identify and nominate an Assistant Coach
• Hold a current Working with Children Check
• Have First Aid and CPR certification (or be willing to complete provided training)
• Complete the online ‘Play by the Rules’ Child Protection course
• Commit to teaching fundamental skills and implementing a simple Style of Play
• Attend coach education and development activities organised by DOCAD during the 2025/26 season
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Club Coaching Course (Level 1) or Community Coaching Course (Level 0)
• Adhere to the BBA and Basketball Victoria Country (BVC) codes of conduct
• Attend Try Out Selection (Sat 15 November 1pm Start)

Application Process:
• All applicants will participate in a 15–20 minute interview. When submitting your Expression of Interest, please include:
• A coach resume summarising your experience and qualifications
• Two referee contacts
• Working with Children Check (WWCC) ID
• Coaching accreditation certificates (if available)
• Current First Aid certificate (if available)
• Disclose any conflicts of interest - failure to do so may result in nonelection or removal from coaching roles.
